Welcome to all visitors to the official website of Countess Wear Cricket Club. We play our home matches on an excellent grass wicket at Winslade Park, Clyst St Mary, 3 miles east of Exeter in glorious Devon.

We are still working  towards Clubmark status, but won't be in a position to complete the application this year. In the meantime, this website has a new page where important documents can be viewed or downloaded. This exercise is being controlled by James Bogue, our Club Development Officer.  Please give James and his sub-committee your full support.

All too soon, we are into another close-season. Several players have taken part in working parties to brush-in seed on most of the square, and take down netting, sightscreens, etc.  Their help to Bob Berry, our Head Groundsman, as he completes his 50th year with the Club, is much appreciated.

No promotions or relegations for our Saturay sides in 2009, but the Sunday XI have achieved back-to back promotions in the last two years and will play in Division 1 of the South Devon League next year with some of the "big boys."

The Colts set-up is now fimly established under the guidance of Martin Bovey.  This year, we have run a Softball U10 side in the East Devon League.  We hope to introduce another age group and hardball cricket for the Colts in 2010.

We are always looking for new players for all our sides so, if you are interested in joining us, we can promise you a very friendly welcome. Please contact our Hon.Secretary, Mike Fernbank, on +44(0)1392 366392.

In 2003, the Club celebrated its 50th Anniversary.  As part of that landmark celebration, a brochure of 100 plus pages was produced outlining the history of the Club, its Officers and Captains, and playing statistics for everyone who had played at senior level for the Club in the period 1976-2002.  Many team photographs are included.  Copies of this brochure are still available from Mike Fernbank at only £1.60 per copy (including postage).
